It presses in like a dense fog, unabated and blinding. Even as its weight sways us, we refuse to move. Why? Because change is…HARD.
Some might say this thing that feels like change is simply the advent of a new season. I beg to disagree, at least for me. Change for me is inevitable. Without change, I do not evolve. I remain stuck in my ways, unable to learn from my life experiences and unwilling to apply them to create a better ‘ME’. I am a glacier, melting back to nothing, unless I am moving forward in that march to the sea.
Ergo, you, my readers, will also see changes. The newsletter develops into more of a blog than a standalone publication. My fiction writing evolves, with the end of an old series and the beginning of a new one this year. My nonfiction persona adds presentations to the toolbox, and some of these, yes, might become videos. (I’m not happy with how I look or how I sound on video, so I’ve been unwilling to move that needle. Change due here too.)
And my life is changing. The dream my husband and I have about traveling around the world, living in a place for a while and then moving on, is becoming a closer reality. My health is changing for the better, I’m happy to report. (More on that in another post.) And thanks to a wonderful mastermind group I belong to, my focus becomes clearer.
Here’s what I can share about where I am today (a drafty-draft): My purpose, my mission, is to bring people joy, acceptance, wisdom and respect, by living by example and using my writing and coaching skills to help others achieve their best selves.
My beliefs, some might say, are naive: People are generally good-hearted and gifted. When we accept our power and uniqueness, we are able to accomplish amazing things. Recognizing our individual needs as PART of our collective society, instead of ahead of it, strengthens our capabilities. Looking outside ourselves with understanding and respect brings us wisdom.
What is your mission in this life? What beliefs carry you forward? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
Until next time – Happy Spring!
Yvonne

Coming soon! The new FREE prequel to the Flynn’s Crossing series!
They call themselves the girl tribe, a term of endearment for their close-knit circle of professional women, secure in their lives and making their way in the world. That world is Flynn’s Crossing, California, nestled in the Northern Sierra foothills. Along its Main Street and rural roads, romance happens when they least expect it – and only after they fully accept themselves.
Serena, Gabby and Roxy can’t resist. Tess can’t give up on the possibility of love, not when they decide to each provide her with perfect men for three blind dates. In the end, she can pick who found the most suitable match to win the bet. That is, only if any of the dates measure up to Tess’s high standards.
Who will she pick? The military vet? The county worker? The chef? Or will her secret thwart them all? It takes Three Blind Dates to decide.
